Fuelo - Fuel prices in Greece.

Fuelo is a free web app that tracks fuel prices across Greece and turns them into something you can actually act on. Instead of a plain price list, it gives you national and regional price trends, a trip-cost calculator, price alerts, a personal fuel log, a garage for your vehicles, and an interactive map of fuel stations - fully bilingual in English and Greek.

/ THE CHALLENGE

Official fuel price data in Greece exists, but it's scattered and hard to use day-to-day. Drivers can see a number, but not whether it's high or low for the season, what it means for a specific trip, or when it's actually worth filling up. The challenge was to take raw regional averages and turn them into something people would check regularly and trust - fast to load, clear at a glance, and transparent about where every number comes from.

/ WHAT I BUILT

I built a Next.js web app that pulls mean retail prices per prefecture from Greece's official Fuel Price Observatory and layers useful tools on top: A live national and per-prefecture price view for Unleaded 95/100, Diesel, and Autogas, with day-over-day trend indicators Historical trend charts, including tax breakdowns per litre A trip-cost calculator based on a car's consumption and distance Price alerts that notify users when their target price is hit A personal fuel log and a "garage" to save vehicles A location-aware "cheapest near you" ranking, computed entirely on-device A tiered pricing model (free tier plus paid plans) with a passwordless account system so alerts, logs, and cars sync across devices Full English/Greek localization

/ OUTCOME

Fuelo is live and in active use, with the core web app, account system, and pricing tiers shipped, and a native mobile app currently in development. It's grown from a simple "what's gas cost today" idea into a small platform with real user tools - alerts, logs, trends - while staying fast, clean, and transparent about its data source.
